Welcome! I’m Paula Lillard Preschlack, a longtime Montessori teacher, head of school, Montessori author and speaker. “My Montessori Stories” is a place to find my thoughts, stories, and suggestions on daily life with the Montessori approach.

What you’ll find here

“My Montessori Stories” offers a weekly personal perspective on Montessori principles for parents, educators, and anyone who wants to understand authentic Montessori for their own lives or educational settings. This Substack series differs from my social media posts, my book, and articles I have written; this is a place for me to playfully share!

If you don’t know much about Montessori, this is a good place to dip in a toe.

You may find that Maria Montessori’s ideas are common sense; they reflect nature and harmonious relations and healthy life practices. Montessori’s unique strength is the simple, practical manifestation of research-backed information about how to help children (and ourselves) learn, and live, well. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) discovered simple truths that repeat almost everywhere you look. My Montessori Stories is my place to show you where I see these little moments come to life, even in our modern day.

You can click this book cover to learn about my book, which offers a comprehensive view on Montessori today for parents, educators, or anyone wanting to dig deeper:

Join the global Montessori community

I was trained by the organization founded by Maria and Mario Montessori, called the Association Montessori Internationale. Being part of a global community of trained Montessori educators has given me perspective, friendships and camaraderie with people all over the world. You can be a part of this learning network by subscribing to my seasonal newsletter, visiting my website, or following my social media posts on LinkedIn, Instagram or Facebook.
